Lancer Claims Services is a national third party claims administrator that has specialized in the handling of professional liability (E&O) claims for over twenty- five years. As a division of Brown & Brown of California, Inc. our mission is to be a superior service organization.
Lancer is structured like an insurance company claims office. We work with brokers, underwriters, carrier claim departments and program sponsors to formulate the claim handling guidelines and service standards that are unique and appropriate for each program.
Lancer is organized by professional specialties, which provides for focused claims handling for those insureds in each profession. Our adjusters are comprised of experienced insurance claim professionals and lawyers who understand the underlying business of the insured and the legal and regulatory environment under which the professional operates.
Caseloads range from 100 to 150 cases per handler. Case type and complexity, claim handling requirements established for the program, and the expertise of the individual file handler is all considered in the determination of individual caseloads.
Lancer currently has settlement authority for AIG, Arch Insurance Group, Catlin Insurance Company, Fireman's Fund Insurance Companies, New York Marine and General Insurance Company, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Swiss Re and Zurich North America. Authority includes not only claims handling but also coverage determination. This allows us to efficiently handle issues and streamline the adjusting process, resulting in prompt quality service to customers.
Lancer also is the third party claim administrator for fronted programs and insureds with high self-insured retentions. Services are offered on a bundled and unbundled basis.
We have developed a proprietary claims administration computer system, which not only provides for efficient claims handling on-line, but also enables managers to monitor staff performance against service standards and provides for Internet based customized reporting for underwriters and program sponsors.
